Description

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Residential Carers to join our established team delivering Supported Independent Living. You will provide care and support to male and female participants within their own home and whilst out in the community. These are located in Sunnybank, Coorparoo, and Springwood.
Suburbs
· A female client in wheelchair with high seizure needs, light manual handling, experience with behaviours – lives in Sunnybank – female carers only – day shifts, evening shifts, sleepover shifts.
· A male client in wheelchair with PEG, light manual handling, experience with mental health – lives in Sunnybank – female carers only – day shifts, evening shifts, sleepover shifts.
· A female client with dementia, mealtime management plan – lives in Sunnybank – female carers only – day shifts, evening shifts, sleepover shifts.
· An independent male client in wheelchair, experience in hoist, light manual handling, medication administration – lives in Coorparoo – female carers only – day shifts, evening shifts and awake shifts.
· A female client with dementia – lives Springwood – female carers only – day shifts, awake shifts.
Shifts will include supporting the Participant with daily living including:
· Evaluating the participants needs and personalise support as required while encouraging participants to develop their independence.
· Social inclusion including engaging housemates, planning and coordinating social activates, games and movie nights, meal planning and cooking, shopping.
· Following Care Plans E.g. Behaviour, Mealtime, Seizure, Exercise.
· Personal care - Toileting, continence, showering, grooming, dressing.
· Mobility- Safely moving around the home, manual transfers, using equipment and aids.
· Communication support with choices and decisions, personal safety.
· Money and personal finances management, tenancy management.
· Medication administration - administering medications through PEG and oral.
· Cleaning, washing clothes, cooking and other basic household duties.
· Transport to appointments, using public transport, (own car is a bonus, millage is paid).
· Maintaining contact with family and friends.
· Maintain a safe environment for participants at all times.
Sifts Available
· Day shifts between 6am – 4pm
· Evening shifts between 4pm – 10pm
· Sleepover shifts between 4pm/5pm – 6am/8am
· Awake shifts between 11pm – 7am
What we are looking for
Must haves
· An ability to bring your enthusiasm, positive attitude, creativity and interests to work, to engage and motivate people to pursue their interests and to live a safe healthy and dignified life.
· Experience supporting a person with a Behaviour Support Plan and Seizure plans.
· Drivers Licence and own vehicle. Additional Mileage allowance is paid.
· NDIS Worker Screening Check, current First Aid and CPR.
Desirable
· Relevant Certificate level study
