Bay Area Women's Center seeks a Residential Case Manager to join our team. This position supports the agency’s domestic violence emergency shelter program. The Residential Case Manager is a crucial support role to survivors residing in the shelter, providing guidance and resources to individuals and families. This role involves creating a welcoming and supportive space for survivors, helping them to adjust to the shelter, and working with them to set and achieve personal goals. The goal is to empower survivors to regain autonomy and prepare for a successful and independent life post-shelter. This position requires a compassionate approach and a commitment to the survivor's confidentiality and safety. The ideal candidate has experience in a residential setting and exhibits empathy, self-leadership, and effective decision-making skills. A bachelor's degree in social work/human services and some experience in crisis intervention and group facilitation are preferred. Relevant work experience may be considered. Knowledge of domestic violence is preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided. The clientele of the Residential Case Manager is primarily survivors of domestic violence, but the individual will occasionally work with survivors of sexual assault. This position is primarily scheduled for first-shift hours and works with the team to cover open shifts and holidays when necessary. Applicants wishing to be considered must submit a resume to apply. Specific Duties: Provide crisis intervention and support services for adult victims of domestic and sexual violence. Facilitate residential support groups. Assist families in acclimating to residential living. Develop individualized service plans. Provide advocacy and education as related to the service plan. Assist clients in applying for Crime Victims Compensation. Answer crisis phone lines. Participate as a member of client-related committees and meetings. Attend training to increase knowledge and skills. Maintain ongoing, positive communication and collaborative efforts within the community. Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of client records. Compile, maintain, and report statistical data as required and necessary. This is only an outline of responsibilities and should not be considered all-encompassing. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in social work or associated field, with some related work experience Consideration may be given to individuals with at least six years of related work experience. Preferred: Knowledge and experience with family dynamics and domestic violence issues. Crisis intervention skills. Group facilitation skills. Able to safely operate agency equipment and machines. Successful candidates are subject to Central Registry Clearance and criminal background screening. This is a non-exempt, full-time, 32-hours per week position starting at $21.00 - $22.00 per hour. Short Workweeks: A 32-hour work week for full-time staff; overtime at time & one-half pay if working past 32 hours. Shift Premium: An additional $5 per hour premium if working between 10pm and 6am.
