Description
As a Residential Support Worker (Waking Watch) you will provide care to our children and young people during the night (21:30 to 07:30), pro rata.  You will be expected to work at least two nights a week, which will include weekends, attend staff meetings and training as appropriate.  You will liaise with other team members when assessing and reviewing the needs of young people visiting Evergreen Lodge for short breaks and you will also have to demonstrate the ability to follow instruction and work independently.  You will also be expected to attend staff meetings and training as appropriate.   You will be expected to follow the young people's individual care plans and to deliver a high standard of care.  We aim to support these vulnerable young people so that their social, emotional, intellectual, cultural and physical needs are met, and they are given the opportunity to reach their full potential.  Successful candidates must demonstrate an ability to build effective working relationships with young people, show good team work skills, communication skills and record keeping.   The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). If successful you will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a 'disclosure'. Further information can be found on the 'Our Recruitment Process' tab.
