JOB OVERVIEW

As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and individualised care to children placed in our care. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities, implementing care plans, and ensuring the well-being of those in our care. This position is ideal for individuals who have a passion for helping others and possess strong communication skills.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience working with children is highly desirable
  • Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for transportation purposes
  • Strong understanding of childcare principles and practices
  • Ability to develop and follow care plans effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Basic IT skills for maintaining records and communication
    Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
    Pay: £22,588.50-£36,296.55 per year
    Expected hours: 20 – 37 per week

Responsibilities
  • Encouraging participation in activities.
  • To provide a high quality of care and contribute to the smooth and safe running of the residential setting.
  • Ensuring safety and well-being and the quality of support given meets the identified needs of the individual young person.
  • Complete all plans and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain effective communication both within the home and with appropriate external agencies.
  • Support young people in transitions to and from the home and support the development of positive memories.
  • Work responsibly with the implementation of identified and agreed plans.
  • Supporting heavily with challenging behaviour within the home.
  • The ability to empathise with young people who experience emotional and behavioral difficulties.
  • Liaise in a positive professional manner with external agencies.
  • Supporting children’s educational needs and help them learn independent living skills.
  • Medication administration.
