Key Responsibilities in Residential Conveyancing Independently managing a diverse caseload of residential conveyancing matters, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, transfers of equity, remortgages, and new build transactions. Drafting, reviewing, and amending contracts, transfer deeds, completion statements, and all required legal documentation, ensuring compliance with firm procedures and best practice. Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, providing timely, clear, and practical legal advice throughout the property transaction process. Conducting thorough title investigations, reviewing search results, raising and responding to enquiries, and proactively resolving any legal issues. Liaising and building relationships with estate agents, mortgage lenders, other solicitors, and third parties to progress each matter efficiently. Keeping up-to-date and detailed records using the firm's case management system, ensuring full compliance with SRA, AML, GDPR, and CQS requirements. Contributing positively to the wider team, including knowledge sharing, supporting colleagues, and assisting with the development of junior team members where needed. Essential Skills and Experience for Residential Conveyancers At least 3 years’ experience as a fee earner in residential conveyancing, with a track record of independently handling a varied and high-volume caseload from instruction to completion. Comprehensive knowledge of current residential conveyancing law and process, including freehold, leasehold, new build, and remortgage transactions. Demonstrable ability to draft, review, and negotiate legal documents with high attention to detail and a problem-solving approach. Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with a strong commitment to outstanding client care and building rapport with clients and stakeholders remotely. Comfortable working independently and as part of a remote team, with sound IT skills, including use of case management systems and Microsoft Office. Why this role?
