JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Title: Residential Coordinator Assistant
Location: Jefferson City, MO
Department: Youth Residential
Schedule: Full-time

JOB SUMMARY:

As a Residential Coordinator Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting the Clinical Team with assigned treatment procedures. You will be responsible for supervision and monitoring of client/patients while modeling appropriate behavior and providing a safe and therapeutic community. In addition, you will provide orientation of program expectations to clients/patients and orientation of associates to programmatic operations. Your contributions will be essential in maintaining a positive environment for both clients and staff.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR CREDENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, psychiatric nursing, or a closely related field; OR
  • High School education or General Equivalency Diploma; AND
  • At least two (2) years of responsible employment history.
  • At least one (1) year of supervisory responsibility is preferred.

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:

  • None.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint check.
  • Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.
  • All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during the work shift.
  • Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are considered sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily activities of clients/patients, ensuring expectations and rules are adhered to while communicating pertinent behaviors to the treatment team.
  • Assist in orienting client/patient populations regarding their rights and program rules.
  • Adhere to all medication policies and work with trained Behavioral Health Technicians to ensure all medication policies are followed.
  • Document client activities occurring on shifts that are relevant to clients’/patients’ progress or behavior.
  • Screen and monitor detoxification clients to ensure that safety and recovery needs are being met if applicable.
  • Provide client transportation as needed.
  • Participate in new Behavioral Health Technician hiring through interview and selection.
  • Assist in training, orienting, and supervising Behavioral Health Technicians.
  • Provide and document supervision of direct reports on a regularly scheduled basis.
  • Facilitate Behavioral Health Technician meetings as scheduled.
  • Assist with staff schedules and provide coverage for vacant shifts.
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of group curricula and group education materials.
  • Perform the duties of a Behavioral Health Technician when necessary.
  • Assist with crisis facilitation and behavioral interventions to de-escalate crisis situations.
  • Ensure that information related to any unusual incidents is collected and reported in adherence to policy.
  • Complete documentation following State Regulatory/CARF standards, including all groups entered for the shift by the end of the shift.
  • Complete all mandatory trainings within the required time frame per State Regulatory/CARF standards, obtaining 36 hours of training every 2 years.
  • Facilitate education or recreation groups as scheduled.
  • Complete Annual Evaluations for direct reports within the designated time frame.
  • Demonstrate interest in the long-term and short-term goals and objectives of the company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Leadership.
