Job Description:
Statement of Purpose: To provide support & advocacy for residents in meeting goals and needs
Accountable to: Manager, Residential Programs (CIC - for program needs as required)
Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday 11pm-7am (overnight Awake)
Hourly Rate: $27.00 per hour
Qualifications:
1) Developmental Services Worker diploma or other equivalent degree/diploma related to human services preferred
2) 6-12 months’ experience working with people who have developmental disabilities and/or mental health challenges
3) Experience in individual program planning preferred
4) Valid Standard First Aid certificate (including CPR) & NVCI completed or must be acquired in first three months
5) Training and/or experience in medication administration
6) Behaviour management skills
7) Ability to work independently and as part of a team to provide a supportive and nurturing environment
8) Computer skills (MS Office, internet, learning management system, etc.)
9) Training and/or experience in personal care (i.e., assisting with G-tube feedings, continence devices) is an asset
10) Training and/or experience in supporting individuals through ambulates, mobilizers, transfers are assets
11) Valid driver’s license and French-language skills are assets
