A Kight Home Center (a division of Carter Lumber) Residential Designer will work with our customers and sales team to create new and modify existing home plans. This fast-paced job will entail experience with drafting based software. Come be a vital piece of our growing company as we continue to make our customer's dream homes a reality. Requirements: Must be well versed in current construction methods and framing assemblies Thorough understanding of current residential building codes and residential energy codes Software-based drafting experience Ability to compile complete drawings for residential home permit submittal Well versed in Microsoft Products (Excel, Word, Outlook); Computer-savvy Exceptional customer service skills; Strong communication skills Well organized and enjoys multitasking Residential construction experience and/or sales experience is preferred Building experience a bonus - not a necessity Responsibilities: Work with sales team and customers to draft new and modify existing home plans to fit a customer's needs Assist in modifying multiple sets of plans at any given time Working with the Company’s POS system for quoting and billing plans/materials Benefits (full-time employees): Health, Dental, Vision (Single and Family Plans) available after 30 days of employment Short and Long-Term Disability Company-paid life insurance and AD&D Optional supplemental life insurance Company-match 401(k) Vacation time and paid holidays Vendor incentives Room for growth; we promote from within!
