Wilson Engineers has offices in Arizona and Nevada with a staff of more than 215 personnel specializing in water and wastewater engineering and construction management services. We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Residential Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing functional, aesthetically pleasing residential spaces that reflect client needs, lifestyle, and budget. This role involves collaborating with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to bring residential projects from concept to completion
This position requires 40 hours per week in our Minden, NV or Reno, NV offices. (This job is not remote.)

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in residential design or a similar role.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong understanding of residential building codes and construction processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Creative problem-solving and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with sustainable design practices.
• Knowledge of local zoning laws and permitting processes.
• Familiarity with project management tools.

• Develop design concepts and layouts for residential projects including single-family homes, multi-family units, and renovations.
• Create detailed floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings using design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit).
• Conduct site visits and assessments to gather measurements and understand spatial requirements.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, preferences, and budget constraints.
• Select materials, finishes, fixtures, and furnishings that align with design goals and client expectations.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure design feasibility and compliance with building codes.
• Prepare and present design proposals and mood boards to clients.
• Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring milestones are met.
• Stay current with industry trends, materials, and technologies.
