JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Residential Drafting Assistant to support our design team in producing highly detailed construction documents for residential projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong computer skills, an eye for detail, and ideally some construction knowledge or experience. Just as important, they should be eager to learn, grow, and help manage project timelines and needs from both our team and clients. We are willing to train the right candidate who is committed to developing their skills.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Chief Architect, SketchUp, SolidWorks or equivalent) preferred — training provided for motivated learners. Create detailed schematics and drafting documents to guide construction processes.
  • Experience in drafting and creating schematics for residential projects is prefered.
  • Background in construction or design will be advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities
  • Work with our Senior Draftsman to learn all aspects of our business model.
  • Be willing to act as an assistant to our Senior Draftsman as you learn and develop the necessary skills for the position.
  • Be willing to learn how to do take offs, and providing data from our floor plans to the sales team and project management.
  • Providing administrative support.
  • Reviewing floor plans.
  • Learn how to draw plumbing, electrical, framing, mechanical, and site plans to our standards.
  • Work closely with interior designer and project managers.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
