You may be eligible for Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Summary of Position: Responsible for the assessment and evaluation of residential properties located within the County. Examples of Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Utilizes computer Assisted Mass Appraisal System (CAMA) to prepare and presents written appraisals of properties within the County for the Board of Review and Chief County Assessment; utilizes Fanny-Mae appraisal guidelines in deriving accurate property values. 2. Enters data into the Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal system (CAMA) and reviews to assure accuracy. 3. Utilizes maps to identify and locate target residential properties, performs on-site inspections of the property, measures square footage and other pertinent distances, assesses structural characteristics of housing/shelters, and records other characteristics pertinent to the appraisal. 4. Researches and utilizes existing computerized/non-computerized data/information concerning target properties; prior sales data, replacement marketability, income levels, prior assessed evaluations, etc, of surrounding properties and determines degree of comparability. 5. Derives appropriate assessed evaluation of target properties based on information collected and prepares written report; maintains records/files of properties assessed. 6. Receives inquiries from taxpayers and refers them to the appropriate source or answers questions about assessments. 7. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications: A high school diploma, Certified Illinois Assessing Official designation, and two (2) years related experience preferred. Madison County Illinois residency requirements must be met within six (6) months of hire. Physical Requirements: Sit for extended periods of time. The employee is required to walk or move up to 200 feet from primary desk. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
