$80,000-$200,000 - This is an amazing opportunity with a well-established and growing lumber and building materials yard in Northern Minnesota. It is ideal for someone currently living in Northern Minnesota or open to relocation and wants to build their career in one of Minnesota’s most scenic regions. This is an added position and requires at least 2 years of sales and estimating experience working with contractors and homeowners on residential projects. The primary focus will be to build strong relationships with contractors and homeowners while providing expert assistance in selecting the right building materials for their projects. This involves seeing projects through from inception to completion and includes preparing detailed, competitively priced material lists to ensure that the products meet the unique needs of each project. This role emphasizes customer service, making sure that every interaction with clients is helpful, professional, and tailored to their specific requirements.

  • Customer Focus: Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong ability to build rapport with contractors and homeowners.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of building materials and how they are used in construction projects.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure material lists are accurate in quantity and pricing to avoid project delays.
  • Organizational Skills: Capable of managing multiple projects and customer accounts with efficiency.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to offer solutions that meet both the customer’s needs and budget.
  • Computer & Math Proficiency: Comfortable using technology to prepare estimates and track orders while maintaining accuracy in calculations.
  • Follow-Up: Proactive in maintaining communication with clients to provide updates and ensure satisfaction.
