Description Position Summary The Residential Service C 10 Electrician is responsible for overseeing all electrical operations within the company, ensuring high-quality workmanship, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and exceptional customer satisfaction. This role combines advanced technical electrical expertise with strong leadership, financial oversight, and strategic planning. The Electrical General Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Operations and is responsible for executing operational goals, driving profitability, developing field leadership, and aligning electrical operations with company-wide objectives. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities Technical & Operational Oversight Oversee the planning, design, installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential buildings, including wiring, lighting fixtures, outlets, circuit breakers, service panels, and related components. Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and permitting requirements; maintain authority to sign permits as required. Interpret and review blueprints, specifications, and electrical codes to ensure accurate installation and compliance. Provide advanced troubleshooting support for complex electrical issues and guide crews in resolving technical challenges. Establish and enforce quality control standards for all installations and repairs. Ensure routine maintenance programs are implemented and followed. Stay current with industry developments, code changes, and emerging technologies; implement best practices across the department. Leadership & Team Management Directly supervise electrical crews, foremen, and supervisory staff. Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and evaluate field personnel and support staff. Conduct performance reviews and develop growth and accountability plans. Coordinate scheduling and workforce allocation to ensure timely and profitable project completion. Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Lead departmental meetings and report operational performance to the VP of Operations. Business & Financial Management Oversee budgeting, estimating, and cost control to ensure project profitability and margin targets are achieved. Monitor labor costs, material expenses, and revenue performance. Approve major equipment and material purchases. Manage vendor and supplier relationships to maintain cost efficiency and reliability. Ensure accurate invoicing and oversee procurement of customer payments. Review and approve required documentation, reports, and compliance records (electronic or hard copy). Drive operational efficiency initiatives in alignment with strategic company goals set by the VP of Operations. Customer & Contractor Relations Serve as the escalation point for homeowners, contractors, inspectors, and stakeholders. Maintain strong professional relationships to drive repeat and referral business. Participate in project planning and scope development. Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally. Safety & Compliance Enforce all company safety policies and regulatory requirements. Conduct safety meetings, audits, and corrective action initiatives. Ensure employees utilize proper PPE, including eye protection, masks, and hearing protection. Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Administrative & Strategic Responsibilities Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures. Analyze operational workflows and implement improvements. Prepare operational and performance reports for the VP of Operations. Support company growth initiatives and expansion strategies. Oversee company vehicle usage and maintenance compliance. Drive company vehicles to assigned locations as needed.
