Description Mental Health Connecticut (MHC) is a statewide not for profit provider agency that partners with individuals, their families, and the surrounding communities to create environments that support long-term health and wellness. MHC has a full-time opening (Sunday - Thursday: 4:00 pm – 12:00 am) for a Residential Specialist II within the Torrington area. This position is in our program that serves a capacity of four women with a history of trauma and multiple long-term psychiatric hospitalizations. The Sanctuary Model is utilized when providing services in this program. This position will be responsible to document and deliver services to persons in recovery in the activities outlined in their Individual Recovery Plans. Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour. MHC is currently paying a shift differential of $0.50 per hour worked between 4:00 pm - 12:00 am in addition to the hourly pay rate. Ensure the safety of individuals in their residence through proper supervision of assigned program site including being aware of necessary treatment issues. Teach and assist Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills to maintain a clean and orderly environment. Act as a liaison with the individuals' therapists, referral sources, and community agencies. Develop and design content and objectives for educational and wellness-related group discussions and activities. Encourage participation, coordinate schedule, and gather the materials needed for the discussion or activity. Implement and facilitate ongoing group activities and discussions with program participants. Provide community based or program site coverage when necessary. May be mandated to remain on site or to report beyond scheduled hours to provide essential coverage. Education and/or Experience: GED or High School Diploma required. 2 years of related experience and/or degree in related field, license, certification i.e. Recovery Assistant certificate Experience with Individuals who have trauma and long-term psychiatric hospitalization histories preferred.
