Children's Home of Reading Youth and Family Services | CHOR YFS  Now Hiring: Lead Residential Support Specialist  Location: Reading, PA 19606 Shift: 2nd (2:00pm-10:00pm) Schedule will be limited to 2nd shift and weekends.  Job Type: Full-Time Pay: $23.00 per hour Position Summary: * Provide crisis response. * Provide supervision, guidance, boundaries, and directions to our residents. * Demonstrate a variety of support, communication, compliance with CHOR's Sanctuary principles. * Assisting with the planning and supervising of programmed activities. * Maintain safety, security of residents and facility at all times. * Committed to young people, the ability to act with integrity in times of stress. * Demonstrate patience, tolerance and flexibility. Position Requirements: * Must be at least 21 Years of Age * Valid Driver's License and clean driving record. (preferred) * Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in social work, criminal justice, psychology, or any Human Services field. (highly preferred) * Associate's degree with at least 1 year experience working with youth. (accepted) * Highschool Diploma or GED with 1 year of experience working with youth. (accepted) * Must past all pre-employment background clearances (Child, Criminal, FBI, and DMV) both federal and state background checks which screen for crimes including, but not limited to drug related crimes, violent crimes, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, and repeated misdemeanors * Must pass a physical and a drug screening which includes a Marijuana/THC panel * Ability to demonstrate basic oral, written, and verbal communication * Must attend all required trainings followed by shadowing prior to working on the unit * Ability to work effectively among various levels of behaviors and maintain an atmosphere of safety, support, and guidance to ensure a positive environment Physical Demands for all Youth Care Workers: * The employee must have the physical ability to restrain a resident, if needed, while utilizing the tenets of Safe Crisis Management training.
