PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The work environment is home-like in nature, with lifting requirements generally up to 25 lbs. Must be capable of providing physical intervention during behavioral health crises, as well as performing CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) in emergency situations.

REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of high school diploma/Equivalent

REQUIREMENTS (ABILITY TO OBTAIN)

Level 1 Medication Aid, CPR, First Aid certifications; for applicants 18 and ability to obtain Class E License if providing transportation.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience serving persons with developmental disabilities or psychiatric disorders is preferred

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists residents in learning daily living activities (personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication management, housekeeping and transportation).
  • Assists residents in developing healthy habits and routines, such as meal planning, budgeting, exercise, and sleep hygiene.
  • Supports and transports individuals with accessing community resources and encourages participation in community-based activities to promote holistic well-being and community inclusion.
  • Maintains awareness of the location and status of all residents in the program during work hours, always ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Working knowledge of residents’ treatment plans and assists with implementation of person-centered treatment plan goals for each resident.
  • Stays up to date with treatment team information through regularly reviewing emails/company communications and attending required meetings.
  • Responds to emergency situations, including mental health crises, by providing immediate support and following policies and procedures to seek additional assistance as needed.
  • Helps residents develop coping skills to manage stress and mental health symptoms.
  • In cooperation with residential nurse and L1MA certification, provide medication management as prescribed and ensure proper documentation and reports any medication-related concerns.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, incidents, and progress. Has knowledge of health and safety procedures including Safety Codes and able to provide CPR, First Aid and/or direct persons to safety in the event of an emergency.
  • Assures the program operates effectively in accordance with ACCH, State and Federal policies and procedures.
