North Suffolk is looking for Direct Support Professionals and Residential Support Specialists to join our team!  These team members provide direct care to individuals living in a residential setting. Direct Support Professionals are members of a team responsible for providing high quality direct care services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities while Residential Support Specialists work with individuals with various mental health related diagnoses. As a nonprofit organization, we believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. We are looking for both entry level and experienced individuals to work in our residential homes.  Full and part time day, evening and overnight positions available in Chelsea, Winthrop, Revere, East Boston, Boston, Waltham, West Roxbury, Hyde Park and Saugus. Please indicate preference for location and shift. Salary: $20 per hour.  $2.00/hour differential for high intensity programs What you’ll do: * Offer guidance for residents during skills building * Develop and implement individual treatment plans for residents * Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, money management, doctor’s appointments and assisting with personal hygiene * Engage people and partner with them to improve their health and wellness, achieve symptom stabilization and self-management and develop and/or restore skills impacted by mental illness to help them live a self-directed life. * Ensure appropriate staff-to-client ratio at all time * Develop and promote a supportive relationship with the residents * Provide side-by-side support and coaching to help people socialize and become more involved in their community. What you’ll need: * Education:  * High School diploma or GED required.  * Bachelor’s degree in any related field preferred. * Experience:  * Zero to six years related experience (depending on DSP level) providing child care/elder care/direct support to developmentally disabled persons OR *  Experience supporting individuals in a mental health/special education or other human services setting OR * Experience working with a population that has severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorder. * Skills:  * Must have valid Driver’s license.  * Must be or able to become MAP certified. * Must be or able to become CPR/First Aid certified within five months of hire (training provided).
