Steps Support Residential are opening a brand new single occupancy children’s home in Summer 2025, our children’s home will be newly registered giving the team the opportunity to create a positive culture not only for the child whose home it is but also for the team.
The home is a spacious and cosy property, we look after a single (solo) child in this home, providing a warm and loving environment where they can feel safe and encouraged to thrive.
Our ethos and values build on a compassionate and nurturing style, with a strong emphasis on high aspirations for the young people we support.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We are looking to employ a team of dedicated Residential Childcare Workers. The ideal person will provide a safe, warm and loving environment which will promote independence skills to support our children to reach their full potential, ensuring their well-being is at the forefront of everything you do.
We are looking for individuals with a range of skills and experience from all backgrounds. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate effective communication skills, an affinity with our values and dedication and a commitment to fostering a positive environment.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Direct support to children, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Support with daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, education and recreational activities.
  • Develop and implement care plans and risk assessments which are individualised meeting needs of each child.
  • Communicate effectively with children, families, and other professionals to ensure the child is at the centre of any decision making.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of progress and key events: family time, daily summaries, medication, activities, achievements and rewards, key worker sessions and independence skills (List not exhaustive).
  • Accompany our child/children on holidays away from the residential home.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance the quality of care provided.
  • Daily tasks involved in running a home which will include the child such as cleaning, laundry, cooking (List not exhaustive).
  • Escort to various locations as required for education, health, leisure and family time.
