WHERE YOU’LL DO IT

Cherry Orchard is a solo home in the Handsworth Wood area of Birmingham; it is a diverse and inclusive home, we have staff members from all walks of life and we enjoy discussing and celebrating all cultures. Our team are warm and fun and have made Cherry orchard a safe, comfortable, and homely environment for the young person. We work alongside the mental health practitioner and our mentor team with RLE to support the young people and help them to achieve their best.
Our team have described our young person as funny, clever, curious, he is a good person, he enjoys food, he is polite, and he is caring. He is accomplished as he has come a long way in such a short space of time, proud of his achievements and the work we have put in together as a team to support him. He has helped us to develop patience and build empathy and curiosity.
We come together for the young person and eachother by attending regular team meetings, having good communication with eachother, with the young person and with individuals and agencies outside of the home. We support each other by listening to each other and talking to each other about problems. We discuss with each other how best to support him, making sure we plan things for him before going to him. We have weekly meetings with the young person, we do lots of activities and sometimes come together as a bigger group for him to do things together.
