Location: Reading
Salary: £13.00 – £13.50 per hour
Shift Pattern: 07:30 AM – 9:30 PM (Rota-based)

We’re looking for compassionate, resilient professionals to join our team in Reading and support a young person in a solo residential placement.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Empowering Young Lives – Promote healthy routines, build life skills, and support independence
  • Providing Safety and Stability – Maintain a calm, secure environment where the young person feels protected
  • Being a Trusted Adult – Build relationships based on trust, empathy, and consistency
  • Supporting Daily Life – Help with day-to-day tasks such as cooking, shopping, and personal care
  • Key Working – Take a lead role in supporting a specific young person’s emotional and developmental journey
  • Team Collaboration – Work closely with colleagues, attend meetings, and contribute to care planning
  • Continuous Development – Participate in training, reflective practice, and ongoing professional growth

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people in residential, care, or educational settings
  • A calm, emotionally resilient approach in challenging situations
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine commitment to child-centred, trauma-informed practice
  • Ability to set boundaries while maintaining warmth and compassion
  • Willingness to work within a rota, including evenings and weekends
