JOIN THE BANYAN TREE – WHERE EVERY DAY IS A CHANCE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

At The Banyan Tree, we’re passionate about providing meaningful care and support to children and young people with learning difficulties and challenging behaviours. Our vision is rooted in promoting independence, embracing diversity, and helping every child we support achieve the outcomes that matter most to them.
We are currently seeking a Residential Support Worker to join our dedicated team in Northampton. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic, compassionate, and committed to improving the lives of children aged 8–18 years with complex needs.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

You’ll play a key part in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that feels like home. You’ll support children with a range of emotional, behavioural, and social challenges, helping them thrive and reach their full potential.
This is a dynamic and fast-paced role that requires flexibility, as shifts include weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins (paid at £55 per shift).
No two days are the same — some may be challenging, but every day brings new opportunities to make a real impact.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Supporting children in their daily routines, education, and emotional well-being
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and helping children build life skills and confidence
  • Assisting with appointments, activities, schoolwork, and community involvement
  • Responding effectively to emergencies and safeguarding the welfare of those in your care
  • Working closely with social workers, healthcare professionals, and families
  • Writing reports, updating support plans, and communicating clearly with the wider team
