Job Details Job Location: Tucson, AZ 85719 Please note: This posting is for an overnight PRN (6:00pm-6:00am) Purpose Residential Technicians, under the supervision of the Residential Technician Supervisor, are responsible for completing tasks related to management of member behavior in the therapeutic residential program. Residential Technicians maintain the member activity schedule, supervise members, and assists members in benefiting from program services through the use of appropriate crisis prevention and de-escalation skills. Residential Technicians document member behavior, participation in programming, and communicate pertinent member information to other members of the multidisciplinary clinical team. The Haven endorses a trauma-informed care approach and a medical model of SUD treatment. Additional Purpose for Residential Technician I The Residential Technician I, under the supervision of the Residential Technician Supervisor, acts in a lead position and assists the Residential Technician Team in maintaining smooth operations during each assigned shift. Essential Functions Maintains close collaboration and communication with Residential Technician Supervisor Ensures the day-to-day operations of the residence, conforming to health laws, and Haven policies while providing a permanent record by documenting all member activity Maintains order, enforces rules, and schedules in a manner that encourages responsible attitudes among members. Conducts room searches, bag/property searches, and informs supervisor when necessary Monitors members when taking medication and allows a member to take approved medications in accordance with Dr.’s orders and Haven policies. Monitors members’ activities. Knows where the members are at all times. Makes rounds to visit members. Meets visitors. Checks each member’s room during rounds. Monitors and verifies completion of each chore. Oversees meal preparation and monitors kitchen clean up after meals on the weekends or when kitchen staff are unavailable. Encourages members to form healthy eating habits by acting as a role model. Additional Essential Functions for Residential Technician I Ensures training of new Residential Technicians in all duties and monitors new Residential Technician’s progress in conjunction with the Residential Technician Supervisor Delegates Residential Technician duties to provide equity as needed Ensures Residential Technicians are providing quality service and are following proper procedures Assists the Residential Technician Supervisor in the development of strategies to improve the resident experience Functions as a role model and resource to all members and Residential Technicians. Provides direct member services by meeting and greeting new members and ensuring that new members are welcomed and fully orientated to the program, schedule, and processes. Ensures the Residential Technician Supervisor is updated on important issues relevant to members and staff Provides Residential Technician trainings in conjunction with the Residential Technician Supervisor as needed Additional Duties and Responsibilities Conducts a search upon intake for contraband in member belongings. Searches personal property as needed. Maintains a record of members’ activities away from the Haven so that each member can be located at all times. Ensures that each member attends scheduled programs and outside 12 Step Meetings Monitors the arrangement of rides to outside meetings. Maintains an atmosphere of caring to encourage members to seek assistance on immediate personal problems, as needed. Is available for consultation and assistance in solving problems. Supervises visiting hours while on duty. Ensures open line of communication throughout the day with the front office Ensure members are cued to follow medication regiment as ordered in EHR. Adheres to Haven smoking policy. Encourages members to develop good grooming and dress habits. Enforces dress and behavior codes and enforces member curfew. Attends Supervision meetings when on duty or review supervision notes when not in attendance, to help maintain flow of information Reports members who do not attend program, or meetings. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Residential Technician Supervisor or Residential Program Manager Additional Duties and Responsibilities for Residential Technicians working 6:00pm-6:00am Conducts member bed checks and documents this in the member records Assist with patient wake-up and preparations for the treatment day Professional Demeanor: Communicates with neutrality and respect when directing members and coworkers Maintains professional appearance and behavior Adheres to prescribed dress code Attends all required trainings Upholds the policies and procedures of the agency Treatment Team Participation: Demonstrates effective teamwork Participates in Performance Improvement activities Utilizes all available means to communicate effectively and efficiently with the clinical team Pursues established training goals and objectives Medical Record Documentation: Adheres to all Haven policies and procedures relating to documentation in the member record Documents member behaviors and symptomatology in the member’s record Documents any incidents or unusual occurrences per Haven policy and procedure Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Must be at least 21 years of age upon hire A valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record is required Must have an Arizona Non-IVP Level-1 Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain it during employment Must have current CPR and First Aide Certification or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire Must have current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire Excellent communication and customer services skills required Excellent written and verbal communication skills required Ability to adjust hours to provide best coverage for member needs required Ability to take direction and communicate in a professional manner with co-workers required Continued education and related workshops are encouraged in areas relevant to work performed Knowledge of computer operations and Microsoft Office required Must have a valid Arizona Food Handlers Card or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire Additional Qualifications for Residential Technician I An Associate’s degree or higher is preferred 3 years or more experience in behavioral health required Past supervisor experience a plus Proven leadership ability required with documented leadership training Additional Qualifications for Residential Technician II 2 years or more experience in behavioral health required Additional Qualifications for Residential Technician PRN PRN Staff are required to work a minimum of 3 shifts per month to maintain employment
