Description Resource Database Manager Salary: $82,000 - $90,000/annually Status: Exempt, Full-Time Department: Informatics Reports to: VP of Data & Technology Solutions About the Role What is a Resource Database Manager? The Resource Database Manager provides strategic leadership for the 211 San Diego Resource Database and oversees the Resource and Data team. This role ensures the integrity, quality, and accessibility of community resource information while serving as a key external representative of 211 San Diego. The Manager is responsible for building and sustaining partnerships, coordinating with internal leaders, and leading efforts to collect and share critical information that impacts clients and the broader community. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on, individual contributor work, actively participating in database updates and special projects as needed. What You’ll Do As a key member of our team, you will: Resource Database Management Lead a team of Resource and Data Specialists responsible for managing the 211 San Diego Resource Database. Act as both a manager and an individual contributor, working alongside the team on complex edits, high-priority updates, or special projects as needed. Oversee daily operations of the Resource Database, including updating service and eligibility information, validating data accuracy, and ensuring all records meet quality standards. Monitor daily workflow, assign tasks, and ensure the team meets performance goals and update targets (at least 85% of key datasets updated annually). Conduct regular team check-ins, provide guidance on complex edits, and troubleshoot data or workflow issues as they arise. Utilize reports and dashboards to track progress, identify trends or gaps, and make data-driven decisions to improve database operations. Establish and maintain protocols, policies, and quality standards for database and information management. Ensure compliance with department policies, procedures, and the Alliance for Information and Referral Services (AIRS) Standards for Information and Referral. Taxonomy Expertise Serve as the organization’s lead expert on taxonomy terms and their technical and practical implementation. Oversee the application of taxonomy in all database records, ensuring consistent, accurate, and optimized classification of resources. Manage and maintain custom taxonomy sets, program mappings, and utilization in integration projects across systems. Train and support team members and other stakeholders on taxonomy standards, best practices, and utilization. Identify opportunities to enhance taxonomy structure to improve searchability, reporting, and user experience. Program Expertise Serve as the internal subject matter expert on social service and health programs broadly, including key SDOH domains, local and federal systems, and eligibility structures. Work closely with internal SMEs, external partners, and sector experts to remain informed on policy changes and emerging programs. Seek ongoing training, professional development, and external learning opportunities to maintain expertise on SDOH and cross-sector service systems. Collaborate with the internal Training team to develop and maintain content-based trainings that ensure staff understand programs, eligibility, and system navigation. Ensure that program knowledge is effectively shared across internal teams, supporting consistent understanding and accurate service delivery. External Engagement & Information Management Represent 211 San Diego in external spaces, cultivating and sustaining relationships with community partners. Serve as a key stakeholder, collaborating with internal teams to ensure accurate, timely, and strategic information sharing. Lead efforts to collect, synthesize, and disseminate relevant information on issues impacting clients and the community, from federal policy changes to local events. Identify emerging trends, gaps, and opportunities to strengthen community partnerships, resource coverage, and community impact. Coordinate with leaders across departments to ensure consistent messaging, alignment of information sharing, and integration of external insights into internal decision-making. Create systems and frameworks for internal and external information-sharing. Excellent communication, organizational, and strategic thinking skills. Excellent computer skills: MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
