Description
Location: Sydney (hybrid) We are not your typical delivery team. We are commercially focused, fast moving and trusted by some of Australia's biggest brands, and we are looking for a Resource Manager to step into a role created by our growth. We're winning bigger, more complex work, and we need one consistent view of how we deploy our people to deliver it. It's hands on, high impact, and yours to shape. About Orro We’re an Australian success story, now close to 500 people strong, delivering secure, end-to-end digital solutions across cloud, collaboration, cyber security, data services and network infrastructure, all backed by over 20 years of experience. Trusted by some of Australia’s biggest brands, Orro leads the way in designing, building and operating digital infrastructure that delivers greater efficiency, agility, performance and resilience. Our solutions take the stress out of tech for more than 400 businesses and over 20 million Australians every single day. Our mission? To create “future now” solutions making it faster, simpler and safer for people to access, store and share information, wherever they are and whoever they’re with. But more than that, we know that real impact comes from connecting people, not just machines. That’s why we take the time to understand our clients; how they work, what matters to them, and where they’re headed so we can deliver not just what they need today, but what they’ll need next. With offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane and Perth, and teams across New Zealand, the Philippines and the UK, Orro is known for delivering future-ready solutions, backed by deep expertise, genuine human insight and lasting partnerships. What You’ll Be Doing Resourcing at Orro happens in pockets today, and it works, but the scale of our project portfolio has outgrown that approach. You'll consolidate what's working into a single framework, embed it across the business, and run it day to day. That means surfacing capacity, identifying fit, and partnering with project managers, delivery leads, our vendor network and Talent Acquisition. This is hands on and pragmatic, not strategic workforce planning. Consolidate what works across teams today into a single, consistent framework, and either build the supporting tools or scope and recommend off the shelf options that fit the business Use AI and automation to streamline how data is captured, surfaced and reported, rather than relying on manual processes Roll the framework out across project teams and practices, driving adoption and embedding it as standard practice Track allocation and capacity across the business, identify underutilised people, and recommend internal redeployment before external hiring Engage directly with our vendor and partner network, providing fast, accurate responses on availability and fit so opportunities can be quoted and converted quickly Partner closely with Talent Acquisition so genuine capacity gaps translate quickly into the right hiring or contractor decisions What You’ll Bring The Essentials Direct experience in resourcing or capacity planning as a core function, within a delivery driven business A builder mindset, comfortable creating the tools and automations you need, or scoping and recommending the right off the shelf solution when it is the smarter option Practical experience using AI tools and automation to streamline manual processes, build efficiencies, or surface insight from data Resilient and pragmatic, with the ability to push through ambiguity and friction to get things working rather than waiting for the perfect answer Comfortable engaging directly with external stakeholders such as partners or vendors, with the credibility and responsiveness to support time sensitive opportunities Bonus Points Experience with resource planning, workforce planning, or PSA tools (e.g. Kantata, Float, Runn, Smartsheet, Mosaic, Microsoft Project for the Web) Familiarity with the technology services or MSP partner ecosystem (vendors such as Microsoft, Cisco, Palo Alto, AWS, Fortinet) Hands on experience building lightweight tools or automations using Power Platform, low code apps, or scripting Even if you don’t tick every box, don’t let that hold you back. If this sounds like your kind of challenge, we’d genuinely love to hear from you. Why Orro? At Orro, we’re proud to support our people and the people who matter most to them in meaningful and inclusive ways. From public holiday swaps that embrace family and cultural diversity, to generous parental and caregiver leave, flexible work options, and company-wide mentoring, we’re here to help you thrive at every stage of life. We also invest in the future through our Emerging Leaders Development Program, nurturing the next generation of talent from within. On top of that, you’ll enjoy 3 days of paid volunteer leave each year, novated leasing, employee discounts, and full access to our wellbeing platform packed with expert fitness plans, nutrition tips, and tools to help you feel your best, inside and out. *Note: The role is subject to state and federal police background checks. Applicants must have the unrestricted right to work in Australia. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
