Description

Are you passionate about guiding older adults and their families through the maze of resources and services available to them? Join Council on Aging in Union County as our Resource Navigator, where you’ll serve as a trusted guide—helping clients make informed choices, access vital support, and age with confidence and independence.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the lead coordinator for the Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) for Union County. This includes recruiting and supporting volunteers while becoming a local expert in Medicare. You will provide counseling and guidance on Medicare, Medicare Supplements, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Part D, and related savings programs, ensuring older adults understand their options and can make informed decisions.
  • Work one-on-one with older adults and their families to assess needs and connect them to both internal COA programs and services offered by community partners.
  • Serve in a highly public-facing role with constant interaction with clients, family caregivers, and community members.
  • Represent COA at community events and partner with local organizations to support aging in place.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team culture where programs overlap and staff support each other. Our most successful team members are flexible—whether that means answering phones, greeting walk-ins, or helping unload equipment donations when needed.
  • Participate in agency events as directed.
