Description The Resource Nurse (RN/LPN) will oversee the nursing staff, coordinate clinical operations, and ensure the delivery of high-quality care to our residents. This position requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to excellence in nursing practice. Schedule: Full-Time, Weekdays, Weekends, 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM, 5 Days a Week Primary Responsibilities and Duties: Provide leadership and direction to the nursing staff, including licensed nurses, certified nursing assistants (CNAs), and other healthcare professionals. Collaborate with the Director of nursing to develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives. Coordinate and oversee clinical operations, including resident assessments, care planning, medication management, and treatments. Conduct regular rounds to assess resident care needs, monitor staff performance, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff, providing guidance on clinical best practices, resident care techniques, and professional development opportunities. Participate in team meetings to discuss resident care plans, progress, and any changes in condition. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other members of the healthcare team to optimize resident outcomes and ensure continuity of care. Conduct staff evaluations, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions as needed, in collaboration with the Director of Nursing. Assist with the recruitment, hiring, and orientation of new nursing staff members. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to nursing practice, resident care, and facility operations. Promote a culture of safety, quality, and resident-centered care amount nursing staff and throughout the facility. Handle resident and family concerns or complaints in a timely and compassionate manner, striving to resolve issues and maintain positive relationships. Perform all other duties assigned. Requirements Job Qualifications: Valid license as a Registered Nurse (RN) of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state where work is performed. 1-2 years of experience working as an RN/LPN or other related field preferred. Strong clinical skills and knowledge of nursing principles, procedures, and best practices in long-term care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of healthcare professionals. Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Understanding of regulator requirements governing nursing practices and skilled nursing facilities. Leadership qualities such as integrity, accountability, and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment. Ability to build rapport with patients through a compassionate and caring demeanor. Physical Requirements: Work performed in a medical setting due to the need to work directly with residents. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, stretch, twist. Stamina to stand and move about the facility to perform frequent rounds and respond to emergent situations as needed. Emotional resilience and ability to cope with the physical and emotional demands of managing a nursing unit and providing leadership to staff members as well as working with residents who may have complex healthcare needs. Capability to lift and transfer residents safely, with proper body mechanics and assistance as needed. Required vision includes close, vision, distance, peripheral, and the ability to adjust focus. Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by the department supervisor/manager. Job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high-stress situations. The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without "giving out" or fatiguing. The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position. The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
