Description CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is looking for a full-time Resource Specialist. The Resource Specialist assists members in identifying and obtaining various financial, health care, educational and other pertinent resources; provides community resource information and make appropriate referrals and follow up on referrals and provide any other referrals needed by the community. Highlights Assess clients’ needs and provide information and community referrals including clothing, food, shelter, rapid housing services, rental assistance, general assistance, etc. Assist clients in completing various applications (e.g., food stamp, Medicaid, employment applications, applications for medical discounts, public assistance recertification paperwork, etc.). Oversee ID program to help members obtain identification documents including birth certificates, social security card, marriage licenses, etc. Stays abreast of community resources. Full-time | 40 hours per week | Hourly Rate: $21.63 Benefit Eligible (Medical, free DMO dental & free vision) including 6 weeks PTO & 11 Holidays Requirements High School diploma / GED with 1+ years of related experience OR Bachelor’s degree in a mental health discipline. Peer Certificate preferred! Knowledge of community resources and how to access them. Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to make and maintain contacts and positive relationships with individuals who receive or have received mental health and/or substance abuse services. Willingness to disclose current or prior use of mental health and/or addiction services and speak openly of their recovery. Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner. Proficient in Excel, MS Office products, as well as general computer literacy. Bilingual skills are a plus! Must have a valid NJ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record. Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.
