The Role:
We are currently looking to recruit a Resource Worker to join our Children & Family Services team in Ozanam Centre, New Road, Mallow. This role is a Fixed Term of up to 2 years, part-time hours Wednesday & Thursday (9.15am to 2.30pm). The post holder will have responsibility to provide administration duties to support the efficient operation of the centre and support service users with varying needs and to coordinate the use of the resource centre’s facilities by a variety of partner and other organisations and support groups. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educated to Leaving Certificate level is essential.
  • Qualification in office administration or computer software course is desirable.

EXPERIENCE

  • Two years’ experience providing varied administrative support in a busy environment is essential.
  • One year’s experience handling a diverse range of callers – both in-person and by telephone is essential.
  • Experience of working in the community/voluntary sector or working with minority communities is desirable.
  • Experience of working with multiple agencies to help those in the community is desirable.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of the Society and of its mission and values.
  • Knowledge of needs and issues of the poor and disadvantaged.
  • Understanding of minority communities’ needs and challenges

SKILLS

  • Excellent organisation and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication in person, written and verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
  • An ability to work well under pressure.
  • Proficient in software packages such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM database.
  • An ability to display empathy and be client focused.
