Organization: SMCS-Sutter Med Center - Sacramento Position Overview: Follows and performs clearly defined equipment maintenance, transportation of contaminated equipment, cleaning, processing and setting up of equipment. Inventories supplies (routine, oxygen, etc), stocks and maintains par levels. Assists in miscellaneous office duties (i.e. answering phones, scheduling tests, patient billing/charging, etc) and assists department by performing equipment function checks, calibrations and oxygen rounds. May perform Electrocardiography (EKG) and associated editing as requested. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety to help deliver optimal patient care. Job Description: EDUCATION Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma. HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN: 1 year of clinical and practical experience as typically acquired in a similar environment. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE General knowledge of respiratory therapy principles, procedures, views, and equipment. Knowledge of respiratory equipment and supplies, particularly Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and BiPAP equipment and supplies. Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people. Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
