Description Under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Care and direct supervision of a licensed respiratory therapist and upon the request of the physician, sets up and operates various types of respiratory care equipment to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with respiratory disease and/or illness. Has full access to patient health information Shift: PRN, As Needed Requirements Registered ty the North Carolina Board of Respiratory Care as a Respiratory Care Assistant BLS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross High School graduate from an accredited high school. Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds May perform the following: oxygen supply systems, equipment processing, manual resuscitation, oxygen administration, humidity and aerosol therapy, small volume nebulizer therapy, MDI administration, incentive spirometry, chest physiotherapy, arterial puncture, nasotracheal suction, electrocardiogram, patient reporting
Responsibilities
Sets up and operates various respiratory care equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of patients under professional supervision. Performs clinical tasks including oxygen administration, suctioning, and patient reporting.
