Job Description: Respiratory Therapist Certified Performs assessment of patient respiratory status, provides respiratory treatments, evaluates patient’s response to effectiveness of care delivered, provides patient education regarding respiratory treatments, health and wellness. SKILLS AND ABILITIES Reads, writes legibly, converses effectively in the English language Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and software programs applicable to the position, e.g. electronic documentation programs Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES High school graduate, or equivalent (copy of academic degree or transcript will be required upon hire if performing Moderate Complexity Testing) American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) card or must be obtained by the last day of the month after the 6 month grace period American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurses’ Association Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) card or must be obtained by the last day of the month after the 1 year grace period American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider card or must be obtained by the last day of the month after the 1 year grace period Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Oregon and Certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) EXPERIENCE One or more years experience as a respiratory therapist in an acute hospital setting preferred GENERAL INFORMATION Union Affiliation: UFCW The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.
