Edmonton Zone Continuing Care provides services through five main program areas: Home Living, Supportive Living, Facility Living, Transition Services and Palliative Care. We are looking for a Respiratory Therapist to join our Home Living team to provide professional support services in the homes of clients of all ages and stages of life. This position works within a collaborative multi-disciplinary team consisting of various healthcare professionals from the nursing and allied health professions. This team collaborates and conducts home or site visits to deliver client-centered services to individuals with a wide variety of physical, cognitive, and mental health conditions, including complex health needs. Using strong clinical and interpersonal skills, you will implement respiratory therapy services in accordance with regulatory and AHS practice standards, using best practice and a client-centered approach, engaging the client, family/caregivers, physicians, broader health care team and other internal program or external agencies as indicated. Respiratory therapy services may encompass any combination of direct therapeutic services, appropriate education, and/or connection to needed resources. Through the development and/or contribution to the Care Plan, in collaboration with the client and other healthcare providers, you will ensure services are provided and modified, based on the client’s response to the intervention.
Description:

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will assess patients, develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans, and monitor their progress. This role requires you to collaborate with various clinical teams and groups to enhance clinical outcomes as well as educate patients and their families regarding diseases, medications, equipment and treatments. You will be responsible for providing training and assisting health care providers in the use and care of various respiratory diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and interventions.
