Job Description
You will operate, monitor and maintain life support equipment such as invasive and non-invasive ventilators and anaesthetic gas machines. Perform outpatient and inpatient diagnostic testing including spirometry and arterial blood gases. Initiate, monitor and discontinue oxygen therapy as needed. Respond to cardiac arrest codes and high risk births for airway maintenance and resuscitation. Perform intubation as ordered by the physician. Teach patients and staff throughout the hospital as required. Participate in departmental quality assurance activity. Comply with occupational health and safety requirements. Assist with departmental policy and procedure development and review.

  • Current registration with College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario
  • Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire
  • Three years experience in critical care preferred
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRP) required
  • ACLS required
  • Minimum of 3 years acute care experience required for our Milton and Georgetown positions
  • Experience working effectively in a busy clinical environment
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent leadership and problem solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to establish positive and supportive relationships with patients, families and other health professionals
  • Ability to work effectively as a collaborative member of the critical care team
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Satisfactory attendance and employment record required

Additional Information
Hours: Various rotating 12 hour day and night shifts (0700-1900, 1900-0700). Subject to change based on operational requirements
Salary: $43.509 to $56.510 per hour
