Get to Know Your Team: Hillcrest Hospital Claremore is a 49-bed acute care medical center offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including maternity, cardiology, emergency, orthopedics, alcohol withdrawal stabilization, gastroenterology and surgery. The Registered Respiratory Therapist and Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician are capable of setting up and operating various types of equipment to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and or illness in Labor and Delivery, medsurg, recovery, intensive care and Emergency room to all age groups. The therapist provides administration of respiratory specific gases and medications, and modes of therapy for the respiratory compromised patient. Responds to emergencies throughout the hospital. Advises on arterial blood gas results and assist with obtaining ABG’s. Assists in the transport of mechanically ventilated patients and patients on noninvasive ventilation. May assist in the ordering of department supplies. Takes and records verbal and telephone orders from physicians as necessary. Attend deliveries and initiate neonatal nasal cpap and mechanical ventilation. Takes an active part in attending departmental in-service/education programs. Participates in Quality Assurance programs and participates in department meetings. Work schedule includes working alternate weekends and holidays. Participates in taking call. Performs all other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Associated Degree in Respiratory Care A minimum of 1 year of experience Oklahoma CRT license (upon hire) RRT license for Registered Respiratory Therapist ONLY (upon hire) BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. ACLS (within 30 days of hire) NRP (within 60 days of hire) Preferred Job Requirements: 3+ years of experience.
Responsibilities
Operate diagnostic and treatment equipment for respiratory diseases across various hospital departments, including the ICU and Emergency Room. Administer respiratory gases and medications while assisting with ABGs and the transport of ventilated patients.
