Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Respiratory Therapist II - Operating Room, Clinical Lead, Anesthesia/Maintenance/Special Procedures, this position provides quality patient care to the OR suites, out of OR anesthesia locations and recovery rooms as required. Duties include Airway and ventilation management. ABG procurement and interpretation. A high level of understanding and competency related to the proper functionality of anesthesia-related equipment. This includes the ability to check, troubleshoot, and complete corrective action promptly in stressful situations. Maintains competency with art line insertion, intubation, and autologous transfusion (certification procedures). Administration of blood products as required. Participates in the collection of data for Anesthesia studies. EBUS (endobronchial ultrasound) assistance. Retains preventative maintenance records with RT maintenance. Participates in the orientation, training, and education of students and new staff members. Rotating on-call is required.
Description:
As a Respiratory Therapist II, you will coordinate, monitor and assess clinical services in your assigned area. You will act as a clinical resource for daily operations, coordinating the work of therapy assessment and treatment in your service area, and assist in the development of clinical protocols. You will develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans and monitor the progress of patients (clients, residents) receiving advanced respiratory treatment. You will identify new equipment requirements, and establish and maintain adequate levels of supplies and materials for your area. You will be responsible for respiratory equipment, including but not limited to operation, procurement, maintenance, and quality assurance. You will participate in interprofessional patient, client or resident rounds, conferences and meetings where applicable.
