DESCRIPTION:      The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing care which includes assessment, treatment, management, diagnostic evaluation of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system. Consults with Physicians. Provides consultation, instruction, and/or technical direction of medical, nursing, and other staff members regarding matters within their scope of practice.     QUALIFICATIONS:      EDUCATION: HS Diploma or GED - Associates or Bachelors degree preferred     LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Must possess a Georgia license as a Respiratory Care Professional. Must maintain a current CPR card or obtain with 60 days of hire. ACLS, PALS certification or obtain within 90 days of hire, NRP is strongly recommended     EXPERIENCE: Desirable characteristics include at least two years experience in a hospital or medical related environment   Management experience preferred   Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision   Must be able to lead by example, counsel employees when necessary and administer disciplinary actions when    appropriate   Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress      
Responsibilities
The Respiratory Therapist provides care including assessment, treatment, and management of patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies. They consult with physicians and provide technical direction to medical and nursing staff.
