Job Summary: Performs routine and advanced respiratory and pulmonary care testing and all other forms of respiratory therapy as prescribed by a physician. Frequent contact with employees, patients, and public. Standard procedures are available, but some authority must be exercised by the individual to meet situations which demand independent action. Requires high degree of accuracy to prevent possible harm to patient. Education: Required: Associate of Science in Respiratory Care Preferred: Experience: Required: Preferred: One year experience as a practicing Respiratory Care Practitioner Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration Required: Current, unrestricted licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the State of North Carolina, and; holding the certification for RRT issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care ; BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward.; ACLS required within 30 days; NRP required must take first available class. PALS Certification. Preferred: Department Position Summary: Performs routine and advanced respiratory and pulmonary care testing and all other forms of respiratory therapy as prescribed by a physician. Frequent contact with employees, patients, and public. Standard procedures are available, but some authority must be exercised by the individual to meet situations which demand independent action. Requires high degree of accuracy to prevent possible harm to patient. Responsible for performing own job duties in the care of Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric age patients. Must possess a positive attitude, tact, poise, courtesy and willingness to cooperate with fellow employees and physicians.
