Schedule: Rotating shifts (days and nights) Requirements: Every other weekend & holiday rotation Location: UPMC Williamsport Sign-On Bonus: $12,000 for candidates with less than 1 year of experience $20,000 for candidates with 1+ years of experience We welcome applicants at all levels of the respiratory career ladder. What You’ll Do: As a Respiratory Therapist, you’ll play a vital role in delivering life-saving care to patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. Working under physician direction, you’ll provide therapy, monitor patient progress, and operate advanced equipment to support respiratory health across all patient populations and service areas. Key Responsibilities: Assess patient needs by reviewing prescriptions, lab results, and clinical data Administer respiratory treatments and medications safely and effectively Set up and operate ventilators, aerosol generators, and other respiratory devices Monitor and adjust equipment to ensure optimal therapy outcomes Respond to emergency situations and assist in transporting ventilated patients Perform pulmonary function tests and bronchopulmonary drainage Maintain accurate patient records and documentation Train and supervise students and new staff Collaborate with physicians to evaluate and adjust treatment plans What We’re Looking For: Licensed Respiratory Therapist (or eligible for licensure) Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment Commitment to excellence in care and continuous learning Why UPMC Williamsport? To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications: Education & Credentials: Graduate of a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care program Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), meeting AHA standards (must include both didactic and hands-on skills demonstration within 30 days of hire) Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Note: Therapists who earned their RRT credential after July 1, 2002 must maintain active certification per NBRC requirements Licensure & Clearances: CPR/BLS Certification (AHA-compliant) Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license or Osteopathic Respiratory Care license Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential Act 33 Clearance (with renewal) Act 34 Clearance (with renewal) Act 73 FBI Clearance (with renewal) UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
