You’ll work under physician direction to deliver advanced respiratory therapies and support across a variety of settings — from the ICU to the OR, ED, and beyond. Education & Experience: Graduate of a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program is required In lieu of an Associate’s degree, candidates must have 5–7 years of experience or hold NBRC certification Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field is preferred Minimum of 2 years of total respiratory care experience, including at least 1 year in critical care Must complete one approved department project annually, with the first project approved within 3 months of hire 🛡️ Licensure, Certifications & Clearances Required Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Therapists credentialed after July 1, 2002 must maintain NBRC certification Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania If practicing in Maryland, a Maryland Respiratory Therapist license is required Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification (AHA-compliant, including didactic and skills demonstration) within 30 days of hire Additional Clearances: Act 33 Clearance (with renewal) Act 34 Clearance (with renewal) Act 73 FBI Clearance (with renewal) UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
