Overview:
We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist, Certified or Registered (CRT) (RRT), internally referred to as our Respiratory Care Practitioner, at St. Mary’s Medical Center (SMMC), a member of Prime Healthcare. As a Respiratory Therapist (RT) you will, under the direction and authorization of the Medical Director and Cardiopulmonary Director/Manager, perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS THAT ARE A PLUS:

  • 2 years experience as an RCP
  • NRP certified
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science Degree

Responsibilities
  • performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician
  • emphasis will be toward the assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population specific needs and requirements of the patient
  • in the absence of a supervisor, may be assigned/identified as team lead, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift
  • evaluation, diagnosis, and care of patients with cardiopulmonary problems
  • such patients include those with emphysema, asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, cardiac failure, and chest trauma
