JOB OVERVIEW

REQUIREMENTS

  • Completion of an NBRC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  • Current state licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum of one year of clinical respiratory care experience
  • Proficient in administering and adjusting therapeutic devices and interventions
  • Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Responsibilities
  • Perform respiratory therapy procedures as prescribed, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medication, airway care, and ventilator management
  • Conduct cardiopulmonary assessments and document findings to guide care planning
  • Monitor and manage life support systems and mechanical ventilators, troubleshooting issues as needed
  • Observe and document patient progress, including responses and potential adverse reactions to treatments
  • Educate patients, families, and facility staff on respiratory treatments and home care practices
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to facilitate effective discharge planning and care coordination
  • Maintain respiratory equipment by performing regular inspections, cleaning, and proper disposal procedures
  • Participate in emergency interventions such as CPR and code response
  • Contribute to clinical quality improvement programs and professional development initiatives
  • Keep accurate and timely documentation of all therapies and interventions
  • Stay current with continuing education and attend in-service training as needed
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and patient rounds
  • Support administrative tasks related to respiratory supply inventory, ordering, and logging
