Job Title: Respiratory Therapist – Nights (Travel Contract)
Location: Detroit, MI
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift Schedule: 3x12 Hour Shifts, Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Pay Rate: $45/hr

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 13-week travel assignment in Detroit, MI. Under the general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, the therapist will deliver life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and therapeutic gas treatments to patients across Intensive Care and General Practice Units. The role includes performing both invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures, providing critical support across various hospital departments.
The ideal candidate will be a team player, possess strong clinical and communication skills, and have experience in high-acuity environments. Candidates with NICU experience are highly preferred.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience.
  • Education: Associate of Science Degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.
  • Certifications & Licensure:
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – National Board for Respiratory Care
  • Current Michigan Respiratory Therapist License
  • BLS Certification (American Heart Association)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy
  • NICU experience
Responsibilities
  • Administer respiratory care treatments and life-support to patients in ICU and general units.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and procedures as ordered (e.g., ABGs, ventilator management, etc.).
  • Respond to emergency codes and assist in resuscitation efforts.
  • Accurately document all patient care activities.
  • Supervise and mentor Respiratory Therapy students, externs, and new staff as assigned.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care planning and delivery.
  • Ensure accurate billing for respiratory care services.
  • Float to various business units as needed.
