JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

The Director of Respiratory Therapy Services is responsible for a variety of duties related to the management and operations of the assigned department(s), including but not limited to provision of quality patient care, regulatory compliance, employee performance improvement, and quality improvement. The Director is active in department activities, transdisciplinary team activities, and hospital activities to ensure individualized, patient-centered health care for all patient populations admitted to hospital.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL NEED:

  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT-State), or Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT), or Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner (RRT/RCP-State) required.
  • Prior related patient care experience required.
  • Prior clinical leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Current BLS and PALS required.
    TriStar Skyline Medical Center is a 350+ bed facility. We are Tennessee’s first comprehensive stroke center and a national leader in neuroscience. In addition, we are equipped with 3 helipads, new ICU and Medical/Surgical floors, and burn care services. We offer a CARF accredited Inpatient Rehabilitation program and are a state-designated Level I Trauma Center. Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.
  • Promote customer service initiatives along with Skyline Medical Center Service Values.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform technical skills and procedures.
  • Promote compliance with Nursing Patient Safety Goals.
  • Assume responsibility for clinical management and financial integrity of unit/department.
  • Assumes responsibility for employee, physician, and patient satisfaction.
  • Maintain responsibility for quality of care delivered within department.
  • Provide leadership, coachin, and counseling to department employees.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and departments to improve patient care delivery.
  • Identify and refer issues to administrative line officer as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform technical skills and procedures.
  • Function as clinical resource for staff.
  • Function as liaison to patients, families, staff, and physicians.
  • Assist with development/revision of respiratory policies and procedures.
  • Complete departmental competencies.
  • Responsible for departmental schedule.
  • Coordinate internal/external staff education.
  • Complete evaluation and monitor certifications.
  • Organize employee orientation.
