Position Overview Department: Respiratory Schedule: PRN Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham Benefits for eligible positions include: generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and more Strongly seeking candidates who are currently enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy Program. What You Will Do Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies consistent with student scope of practice. Administer medications and treatments based on patient outcomes, under appropriate supervision. Deliver and assess patient response to ordered therapy. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition. Provide patient education for diseases, medications, and treatment. What You Will Need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Education: High school diploma equivalency OR Enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline. Additional Preferences No additional preferences. Responsibilities
The intern will provide evaluation and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies within the scope of student practice, administering medications and treatments under supervision. Responsibilities also include assessing patient response to therapy, monitoring and communicating patient condition, and providing patient education.
