This is a Full time, benefited 12 hour day shift RCP position at Scripps Encinitas. The ideal candidate has a thirst for knowledge and is eager to grow within the Scripps Health family. The Respiratory Therapist, in collaboration with other caregivers: Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates actions for respiratory care Performs all technical diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to respiratory care and other core responsibilities necessary to maintain the flow of patient care and comfort in the unit Responds to critical situations Utilizes computer systems in performing position duties Adheres to Hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Participates in Quality Control, preventative maintenance, and performance improvement activities. Required Qualifications: Current California RCP license Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification Excellent interpersonal skills. Enjoys working with the public. Must be able to speak, read, and follow instructions in English. Technically competent in the department skills inventory. Computer literate. Preferred Qualifications: Prefer one or more years acute care experience. Graduate of one or two year AMA School of Respiratory Care preferred. NICU level 2 experience is preferred
Responsibilities
The Respiratory Therapist assesses, plans, and implements respiratory care actions while performing technical diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. They are responsible for responding to critical situations and adhering to hospital policies to maintain patient comfort and care flow.
