JOB SPECIFIC INFORMATION

We are seeking compassionate Respite Caregivers to support Whānau and their Tamariki from all ages (from children, youth, to adults) who require short-term care. Care may take in place in various settings, either in your home or other agreed places based on the individual needs. Please note: An Oranga Tamariki Check is required for this role.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who is able to demonstrate the following personal skills and attributes, and professional skills and knowledge:

  • Initiative, reliable and flexible respite caregivers.
  • A positive attitude and a talent or being creative for developing supportive interactions.
  • The ability to relate well to a diverse arrange of people.
  • Experience supporting disabled people with high and complex needs would be a distinct advantage.
  • Strong connections to the community.
  • The ability to work independently, but also in a team environment.
  • A willingness to work with people we support to achieve their goals.
  • On the job learning, ongoing support to achieve L3 and L4 Health and Wellbeing Certificates.
  • A valid, Full New Zealand Driver’s Licence.
