Description The Respite Direct Support Professional provides temporary relief to caregivers by supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This role focuses on ensuring the individual’s safety, engagement, and well-being while promoting independence and meaningful activities. This position plays a crucial role in supporting families and enhancing the quality of life for individuals with I/DD by providing safe, engaging, and compassionate care. Requirements JOB REQUIREMENTS Must be 18 years of age or older. Experience working with individuals with I/DD preferred. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Patience, empathy, and commitment to supporting individuals with diverse needs and their families. Ability to assist with mobility, transfers, and physical activities as needed. May require occasional lifting (up to 60 lbs) and extended periods of standing or sitting. Complete all required OPWDD trainings, and stay up to date with all necessary trainings.
