We are recruiting a Restaurant and Bar team leader to work full time alongside our management team where your input and efforts will be valued and the opportunity to grow and progress within the role will be encouraged. In the absence of the manager you will lead the front of house team in the day-to-day running of the food operation, opening and closing the business and cash management.
Following on from the success of the past 12 months with the pub collecting two gold awards recognising our commitment to consistently producing exciting locally sourced food, in a fantastic environment and further being announced the ‘Devon Pub of the year’ at the Devon Tourism Awards, we are now looking to expand our team.
The Castle Inn is a 16th Century pub with rooms in the beautiful village of Lydford in the Dartmoor National Park. We pride ourselves on serving fantastic food and drink with a strong emphasis on local produce and offering our locals and out of town guests genuine hospitality. We are a very busy pub with 13 bedrooms, a large restaurant, inside and outside bars, heated and lit tent and beautiful large beer garden.

Requirements:

  • Experience in supervision of restaurant, bar or service lead industries is necessary.
  • A passion for working and engaging with customers face to face, the ability to create a natural rapport and strike up a relationship with our guests is essential.
  • Capacity to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Smart appearance, flexible and friendly attitude, accuracy and reliability are essential.
  • Ability to be have a hands on approach to leading a team to ensure the smooth running of a shift, whilst delivering an exceptional customer experience.
  • High standards in presentation and confident decision making.
  • Encourage a strong working relationship between front of house and the kitchen team.
  • Dealing with customer enquiries, making recommendations and communicating effectively with people on all levels.
