Description

The McGregor Columbian Club is a local not-for-profit event facility featuring home cooking and personal hospitality through the bar and restaurant 7 days a week, The GM is responsible for daily operations of the bar/restaurant/event facility and providing professional leadership and direction to all staff.
Duties
Recruit, train, schedule and manage 10-18 staff members, including cooks, servers, janitorial staff, etc.
Approve and Submit Payroll Information
Uphold Health and Safety and Employment Standards Act Regulations
Track, purchase and receive required kitchen/ facility stock.
May require hands-on Cooking and/or Serving
Update Eat-In and Take-out Menus Seasonally
Plan and publish daily Specials online, in-house and digital sign
Maintain Point-Of-Sale System
Maintain a level of service and hospitality that proudly reflects the Columbian Club
Ensure overall cleanliness and general housekeeping meets company standards.
Contract Suppliers/ Vendors to ensure equipment is maintained and in good working order including safety equipment
Liaise with Windsor-Essex Health Unit to achieve high ratings
Demonstrate a Strong Front of House Presence
Prepare invoices and collect Receivables
Meet with Customers and coordinate hall bookings
Coordinate In-house events and entertainment
Relationships
Cooperation and coordination with Volunteers
Collaborating and reporting to the Board of Directors on current operations status and plans for improvements and enhancements
Skills Required
Must be flexible with hours and be available during peak event hours which may involve nights and/or weekends
Proven record of being an effective leader and role model
Experience in a Managerial Role required
Knowledge and Experience with Restaurant software an asset
Experience with short order kitchen an asset
Experience in restaurant management an absolute asset
Smart Serve and Safe Food Handling Certifications required
Compensation
Salary plus Commision based pay
Base Salary to be determined based on knowledge and experience
Full Time, Hours subject to scheduling
Closed most holidays

Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
