This means caring deeply for our guests, associates, and communities—treating people like family, giving back generously, and creating spaces where everyone feels valued.     Through our partnership with charity: water, we’re also committed to bringing clean water to one million people in Africa.     Assistant General Manager – Sortino’s Italian Kitchen  Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking an Assistant General Manager.   Sortino’s is a modern red-sauce restaurant where old-school Italian cuisine meets the modern age. Sortino’s Italian Kitchen is a casual restaurant and bar that brings to the Kalahari a tradition of hospitality established by Giorgio and Giacomo Sortino more than 60 years ago when they opened the original Sortino’s Little Italy restaurant in downtown Sandusky, Ohio. In this position, you’ll work with the restaurant general manager to oversee and coordinate the planning, organizing, training, and leadership necessary to achieve stated objectives on a day-to-day basis in sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness, and sanitation of the restaurant’s dining room and kitchen areas.     Must be available for nights, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.   Key Responsibilities   *  Ensure that all food and beverage products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards. * Achieving company objectives in sales, service, quality, the appearance of the facility, and sanitation and cleanliness through training of associates and creating a positive, productive working environment. * Fill in where needed (as interim Manager, Supervisor, or Associate) to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations are met daily. * Continually strive to develop, coach, and train your staff in all areas of managerial and professional development.   What We’re Looking For  * With this position, we do require a background of general food and beverage knowledge, involving at least 1 year of front-of-the-house operations and/or assistant management positions in a hotel or resort setting. * Prior restaurant experience in a full-service restaurant and supervisory experience of staff is a must.   * It’s preferred that you have at least 2 years of directly related experience, including experience with craft cocktails.    A Sampling of Our Benefits   Our team enjoys a comprehensive benefits package, including:   * Career growth opportunities with promotion from within   * 401(k) matching, paid time off, and holiday compensation   * Health, dental, and vision coverage for full-time associates   * Employee appreciation events, discounts, and perks at all resorts   * Education assistance programs to help advance your career     Be Part of Something Extraordinary   At Kalahari, we believe the best leaders lead with Love—because love builds trust, inspires growth, and creates experiences that last a lifetime.
